Smart Absens ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our attendance management platform.

Account info (company name, name, email, encrypted password); usage data (attendance, check-in/out times, location when GPS used); technical data (IP, browser, device) for security.

3. How We Use It

To provide and improve the Service; process payments (PayPal); send service notifications; comply with legal obligations.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers with industry-standard measures against unauthorized access. We use:

  • Password hashing (bcrypt) – Passwords are never stored in plain text.
  • Cookie encryption – Session cookies are encrypted for security.
  • No selling of data – We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We may share with: PayPal for billing; service providers under confidentiality.

6. Your Rights

Under applicable data protection laws (including GDPR), you have the following rights:

  • Right of Access – View and edit your data in your Profile and attendance records.
  • Right to Rectification – Correct your data via Profile settings.
  • Right to Erasure – Request permanent deletion of all your data. We process deletion requests within 30 days (grace period to cancel if needed).
  • Right to Data Portability – Export your data in machine-readable format (JSON/CSV) via Profile > Data & Privacy.

7. Cookies

Essential cookies for login/session; possibly analytics for improvement. Manage via browser settings.

8. Data Retention

Retained while account is active. After deletion, limited retention for legal/backup purposes.

9. Children's Privacy

Service not for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect from children.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy. Material changes notified via email or in-app.
